Whether you're craving relaxation, relief from sore muscles, or a refreshing reset, this DIY bath salts recipe is a perfect addition to your self-care routine.
Why Use Bath Salts?
Epsom Salt: Rich in magnesium, Epsom salt is known for relieving muscle tension, reducing inflammation, and promoting relaxation.
Sea Salt or Himalayan Pink Salt: These natural salts help draw out toxins, soften skin, and replenish essential minerals.
Essential Oils: Choose oils like lavender for calming effects, peppermint for sore muscles, or eucalyptus to clear the mind and sinuses.
Carrier Oils: Add extra moisture with coconut, jojoba, or sweet almond oil—perfect for nourishing dry skin.
Dried Herbs & Flowers: Ingredients like rose petals, chamomile, and lavender buds not only elevate the visual experience but bring additional soothing properties.
DIY SOOTHING BATH SALTS RECIPE
Ingredients:
1 cup Epsom salt
½ cup Sea salt or Himalayan pink salt
10-15 drops Essential oil (lavender, eucalyptus, or peppermint)
1 tbsp Carrier oil (optional – coconut, jojoba, or sweet almond)
Dried herbs or flowers (optional – rose petals, lavender buds, chamomile)
Note: If you have sensitive skin, start with a smaller amount of essential oil and avoid oils that may cause irritation.
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine the Epsom salt, sea salt, and (optional) ¼ cup baking soda for extra skin-softening power.
Add the essential oil and carrier oil. Stir thoroughly to evenly distribute the oils.
Gently mix in any dried herbs or flowers, if using.
Store your bath salts in an airtight container—glass jars work beautifully and make for a lovely gift.
To use: Add ½ cup to a warm bath, swirl to dissolve, and soak for 20-30 minutes.
Customize Your Soak
Relax & Unwind: Try lavender oil with dried chamomile flowers.
Soothe Sore Muscles: Use a peppermint and eucalyptus oil blend.
Romantic & Uplifting: Add rose petals and a few drops of ylang ylang or bergamot.
Make It a Ritual
Set the mood with soft lighting or candles, play your favorite calming music, and let the aromatherapy and minerals melt away tension. You deserve a moment of stillness.
