YOUR SKIN CRAVES HYDRATION, AND WITH THESE TIPS, YOU CAN HAVE IT LOOKING GREAT IN NO TIME!
Drink plenty of water. When your body is dehydrated, the first place it pulls water from is your skin, making it extremely susceptible to becoming dry, rough and flaky. Be sure you stay hydrated. A good rule of thumb is to take your body weight, divide it by 2, and that’s how many ounces of non-caffeinated beverages you should drink daily.
Do not forget to moisturize, and you should aim to moisturize once to twice a day. Preferably after a shower to seal in the moisture.
Do not exfoliate more than once a week. When skin is dry, rough and flaky, the first thing we tend to do is scrub away the flaky skin, but over exfoliation will lead to irritation and increase dryness. Use a gentle scrub. One free of beads or grains that will tear skin. Honestly, a warm damp washcloth is more than sufficient to remove dead skin cells.
Do not use products that contain high levels of alcohol. Alcohol is extremely drying to the skin.
Avoid long, hot showers. I know this one is difficult! But, even though a hot shower feels great, it will cause additional dryness. Try to switch to a warm shower.
